BERNARD BAUR 1942-2019
was an artist crusader and award-winning journalist.
Named one of the “Top Music Business Journalists” in the country by the National Association of Record Industry Professionals, Bernard was also an instructor for the Music Business Program at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA.
For many artists he was the connection between the streets and the suites. In fact, he was instrumental in almost thirty signings to record labels, publishing companies and management firms over the last ten years.
As a journalist, Bernard is credited with over 1200 published articles in a variety of publications, as well as general entertainment websites. Until his death he was the Review Editor, A&R Reporter and Features Writer for Music Connection Magazine.
With over thirty years in entertainment and music, Bernard worked with superstars and emerging artists as a director of marketing and promotions, director of business affairs, PR consultant, media liaison and A&R executive.
He consulted and worked with record labels, entertainment firms (music, TV, Internet), independent artists, and guitar companies.
At Warner Bros. Entertainment, he handled marketing and copywriting for all WB products, including music, television programs, animation and films.
Bernard also appeared in half a dozen documentaries, and several VH1, MTV and CNN specials.
He was a frequent participant in Music Conferences and Workshops across the United States; and was an instructor for the Music Business Program at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood CA.

In an Internet poll for "Best in the Biz" (conducted by the National Association of Record Industry Professionals) Music Connection’s Bernard Baur came in second (after Wired's editor, Chris Anderson) as Top Music Business Journalist of 2007.
For over 10 years Baur was a regular contributor/columnist and feature writer for MC. He also produced MC’s “Best Kept Secrets” a showcase for unsigned artists.
